ARRA temporarily increased food assistance being provided under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (also known as Food Stamps). ARRA temporarily increased the SNAP benefit received and also allowed expansion to jobless workers until September 2010.  The expansion for jobless workers could be very beneficial to homeless adults, who may have trouble meeting the work requirement; however, the provision does not waive any state work requirements in effect.
